My name is Pastor Tony Catron I graduate from K.S.U. with a degree in electronic/electrical engineering. While doing that I became a Junior Deacon and also a musician in my dad's ministry in Cleveland, Ohio. Years later, my career took me to Michigan where I worked as a Electrical/Electronic Engineer. While in Michigan I became a Minister, then later went to Seminary training at Birmingham Bible Institute and became an Elder at a large Pentecostal church in Michigan called LLCC. I was called to the ministry by God. So I headed up an outreach ministry based on the End Times, dealing with restoration in people lives. Then my dad called me back to Ohio to help him Pastor his church. During that time, God changed my outreach ministry, turning it into a full-time restoration ministry. He gave me the name Ark of Covenant Ministries and the rest is history.

Jesus and Religious Traditions

Look at what the Scribes and Pharisees are doing. They watched and knew that Jesus was going to heal a man who needed wholeness. The scribes and Pharisees were so blinded by darkness, by the letter of the law that they could not see the beauty of a miracle and the miracle Maker right in front of them. They waited to catch Jesus in His words, but He answers too gracefully with every response, not having the intention to prove them wrong, but the intention to speak what is truth. Speak the truth because its truth. Speak truth with good intentions.

Jesus Chooses Twelve Apostles

Jesus spent the night in prayer before He choose His twelve disciples. The fact that Jesus and His Father are One, yet He spent all night in prayer. How much more the necessity of prayer for us all.

Jesus Taught Them What Matters Most

The Kingdom of Heaven is counter-cultural to what the world says. Jesus’ sayings are the entry requirements for Heaven. Those who are rich should be cautioned. Living a life of comfort in this life is all the comfort you’ll ever get because in the next life you’ll have no comfort at all. There is a danger of physical comfort that can become an idol or a hinderance to our character, especially in the American Church.

Love Your Enemies

Live your life like Jesus lived. Don’t get wrapped up in what you’ve done for others expecting them to do something for you in return. Evaluate why you’re doing the things you do. Are you investing to get back a return? Are you doing things to represent Jesus well? Are you doing things to represent yourself? Do with an intent to give, whatever that may look like, expecting nothing in return. Even with tithing to Church, let your intentions be good, not demanding that the money is spent in a certain kind of way. Be merciful as your Father is merciful.

Summary

  1. Don’t let tradition nullify your faith, 2-5
  2. Don’t come to Jesus with ulterior motives, 7
  3. Step away to pray, 12
  4. Be strong in Jesus’ light not your life, 9
  5. Don’t gobble up God’s mercy and give scraps to others, 36
  6. You don’t have a right not to do what’s right, 27-31
  7. Correct your walk before you talk, 42
  8. Displays of virtue in your heart should match your actions, 45
  9. Call upon the Lord and obey His instructions, 46

Its Time to Draw Nigh Before You Die Walking in Your Own Lie

How many times have you told yourself that you where not going to fall for that same thing again? Or even said that that thing wouldn’t fool you again, then you went right back into it again? Well Albert Einstein’s third law of motion is this: for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, and it became a law of man. But before man even existed God said in Galatians 6:7-9:

7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season
we shall reap, if we faint not.

I believe a lot of us have passed out from reaping from what we have sowed, to the point where it’s not so convenient to sow, because every time we sow, we get the short end of the stick. For example, I try to help someone who is down in their life then they start taking advantage of my kind nature. Still another might say, “when I tried to help a Brother or Sister in the ministry I feel like I’m being used.” Well the Bible reads in Romans 12:5-16:

5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; 7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; 8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it
with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. 9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. 10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; 11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; 12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in
tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; 13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. 14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. 15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. 16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high
things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

In Proverbs 14:12 also says, “there is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

Everything good in your own eyes as Proverbs 21:2 says, “every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.”

Many times when we think there is a problem with someone else, the problem is usually you being unwilling, or wanting to be more humble than the other person. So we have a tendency to wear our feelings on our sleeves of emotions, which in turn will causes more conflict than communication.

Matthew 5:42-44 says:
42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. 43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you:

In my Conclusion look at James 4:7-8:
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

People of God you need to read 2 Timothy 2:21-25
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. 22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. 24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

In Jesus name it is so. Selah!

The Miracle Catch of Fish

Simon answered Jesus saying, “Master,” not even knowing Him. Simon Peter called Jesus such attesting to His great authority. Maybe Simon had heard about Jesus’ prior miracles. Simon’s obedience was astounding to listen to Jesus, without even knowing Him. Firstly when Jesus requested to use his boat and secondly when Jesus suggested he cast his net again. Simon treated Jesus with respect, having not known Him. If you’re obedient to what God says to do, then you’ll reap an abundance.

Jesus, the Healer

Jesus’ response to the disciples including Simon’s response to this great miracle of fish is so profound. Peter, James & John left all to follow Him, because of one astounding miracle. Now they would be catching men instead of fish.

The leprous man fell at Jesus feet, Peter, falls at Jesus feet. Though we can come to the throne boldly, we still have to have reverent humility toward God. His healing was meant to be a testimony to others, namely the priests, of what Jesus can not only do for us, but for all.

Even when massive crowds ran after Him, He took time for them, but also valued time in the quiet. We can’t let people running after us seem like interruptions to our private prayer life and on the other side of that, we can’t let people drain us and deliberately interrupt our prayer lives. Everything we do in love toward others is an act of worship to God.

Many people that could have been in the situation of the paralyzed man and his friends would probably have come back due to the large crowd. However, their faith was incredibly strong, and because of their faith, Jesus healed.

Jesus Calls Matthew to Follow Him

Levi was in a profession to which many hated him, yet Jesus did not look at his job title, Jesus looked at his heart.

Breaking of the Assimilation of the World’s Subjugation in a Christian Mind

In this life we’re only given three choices to make:

  1. To live or to die
  2. Freedom or bondage
  3. Having free will to choose the truth of a lie

So answer me this: why is it that, while we have these choices in our short span of existence we always choose to be bound and die? Well, lets take a deeper look at this dilemma. First let’s take a look at three major causes of this dilemma:

A. Lust
B. Desire
C. Disobedience

Take a closer look at letter A, Lust. When it comes to lust, all of us at one time have had a battle with this old friend, and I use this term very loosely, due to the fact that in one situation or another, it has lead us down a very slippery slope where we gave lust our undivided attention and our obedience without question. We have done almost every imaginable thing lust has showed us.

1 Corinthians 10:6-13
6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. 8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. 9 Neither let us tempt Christ,
as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. 10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. 11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Other scriptures associated with this are James 1:14-15, Galatians 5:16-21.

Now let’s look at letter B, Desire. Most of us have some form of desire whether in our souls or our bodies that has lead us to either do unscrupulous things or have some unscrupulous ways, just to attain a desire, born of the flesh.

1 John 2:15-17
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Now the last letter. D is disobedience. This is one of the profound topics throughout the whole Bible, and is the number one failure of man and woman. Going back to the beginning in the garden of Eden where woman was told what not to do and she did and man did no better, following
her into disobedience resulting in both, as kids, being kicked out of the garden. Even to this day, we walk in disobedience and carry others with us.

Ephesians 2:2-3
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Roman 5:19 says, “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.”

In my conclusion, Colossians 1:23-28
23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; 24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church: 25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; 26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: 28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

Lastly read Roman 12:2-3 which says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”

Luke 4

Jesus Tested in the Wilderness

Jesus as the Son of God even had to go through temptation and trial to be tested to identify with humanity in their own sufferings as they too would experience temptation and wilderness periods. Its interesting that Jesus was tested after His 40 day fast. Satan will attack you at your weakest, but be of good cheer, Jesus has overcome and so can we through Him.

The Devil departed from Jesus temporarily to spy out another time to harasses Him. If the Devil did this to Jesus, the Saviour, how much more will he do it to us? This is a part of our “training,” so to speak in this life, being buffeted by Satan, but if we submit ourselves to God, we can resist the Devil & he will flee (James 4:7).

Jesus, in the presence of people whom He’d grown up among in Nazareth, dub Himself the promised Messiah when He quoted from Isaiah 61:1. Familiarity bred contempt among them because they rejected Him.

Jesus Confronts a Demonized Man

When Jesus preached in a synagogue with authority, His words had much power to penetrate to the heart of those who heard, so much so that evil demons within the hearers manifested. His words are Life, and demons know that they cannot abide His presence and powerful words. No unclean spirit should be comfortable being in our mist, because we carry His powerful presence.

Jesus Heals Many

Jesus powerful, and the force with which He caries that power is not to be reckoned with. Though He is powerful beyond our understanding, Jesus is also infinitely merciful and compassionate. He healed Simon-Peter’s Mother-in-law’s fever. When Jesus heals you, its for a purpose of servitude.
